It’s been years since we’ve seen wallpaper as hot as it is now, and to be honest, I’m quite excited for the resurgence. I recall skipping in to the local paint store with my mother at a wee age to pick out textured wallpaper and how the smell of the heavy printed paper was as comforting as freshly baked cookies. The newest wallpaper designs along with my memories make me want to hang some.
With current technology on our side, you can find patterns and textures that are out of this world. They range from natural inspired designs such as Anthropologie’s Birch Tree to papers with metallics, grasscloth and glitter. The trending wallpaper designs are very contemporary and graphic. They are perfect in entryways, bedrooms and dining areas. If you fall in love with a bold design, consider applying it to just one eye catching wall instead of the entire room like it was typically done in the olden days.
Now, if technology could only make the walls we textured years ago smooth in a snap so the wallpaper will actually stick!
