When you have a view that you love, it is crucial to choose the right window treatment. You want to make sure that what you choose adds to the beauty beyond your four walls, rather than blocking or invading it.
We recently worked with one family in Atlanta, Georgia to do just that. The family had a gorgeous loft made up of a fusion of contemporary and traditional design. They wanted light control to protect their beautiful pieces while away at work and to have maximum usability of the space while at home. But they also had a wonderful view that they wanted to enjoy without distraction.
Our talented designer Melissa worked with the family to select these stunning Silhouette® Window Shadings to add softness and elegance against the sharp brick exterior.
However, installation can be challenging in a loft with materials like brick and concrete around the windows. For this installation, we used a special installation tool called a floating headrail, which creates a smooth, level surface for proper installation.
It would be hard to get out of bed in this beautiful bedroom! Luckily, Silhouette® shades can be operated from the homeowners’ iPhone or iPad. They can enjoy their gorgeous ‘good morning’ view without having to move from under the cozy covers.
The owner was delighted with the results and so were we! The clash of traditional/formal with modern/industrial provides a fun, warm, inviting feel. I love how our Hunter Douglas window treatments added to the ambiance of this beautiful home and preserved their wonderful view.
