I had an unusual opportunity for a makeover recently. Clients of mine had purchased a cookie-cutter tract home, and then transformed it into an Alpine forest dream! Avid skiers, the couple was keen to make their home décor reflect that facet of their lives. They’d made the entry into the home into a rock-strewn stream, paneled the living room and den in Pecky cedar, making the home feel as cozy and welcoming as a Swiss chalet.
Unfortunately, their beloved dog had chewed through the blinds in the living room! It was more than time for a change! I suggested Hunter Douglas Parkland wood blinds because they were a close match to the Pecky cedar paneling. The clients were delighted with the way the Parkland blinds complemented the darker sections of the existing paneling in the den. We selected classics in Thoroughbred for the living room and classics Prairie in the den.
There were other benefits to the Parkland blinds. The finish on these blinds is made to last: they’re extra-durable, which makes them less likely to be a doggie chewtoy in the future. In addition, these wood blinds use the EPIC operating system, which makes adjusting the blinds much smoother to operate and is the most durable operating system availabe. These blinds will last!
My clients were thrilled. Durable and attractive, the Parkland blinds add to the special Alpine décor in this otherwise very standard home. My clients have given a special, warm, unique twist to their home. I was delighted to be able to contribute to the realization of their décor dream.
