More often than not, my clients are seeking a balance of beauty and privacy; however, that was not the case with this pair! This quiet, private living room already brushed elbows with their wooded yard, so seclusion was not a top priority. The issue in this case was the strong sunlight that shone through the trees, turning the space into a bright sauna of a room.
In order to create an impact on the imposing sun without detracting from the feeling the wide,nearly floor-to-ceiling open windows created, we looked at a few options. First, we browsed through shadings with wide view-through spaces. With various levels of opacity and strong UV protection, this was a great place to get a feel for what new window treatments would bring to the space. There was an infinite amount of color and fabric options, but they were still not giving these picturesque windows the attention they deserved!
For these windows we needed to come up with something that provided two clear features: Difusing the natural light, and and enhancing the private, wooded views.
