I have heard clients discussing wanting to incorporate more color into their interiors, but they’re seemingly stumped at how to do so. It’s easy to forget that windows aren’t just for looking out of, but also for looking at! It was no surprise then, when a particular client of mine came to me with questions about window dressings and, was looking for ideas for more color integration. I exclaimed, “Yes! We can do this!”
My client was shopping for window dressing to brighten up a yummy green bedroom. They had recently painted the walls green, but wanted some pops of red to finish the room, and help the space reach that cherished “home” feeling.
In terms of functionality, my client was hoping for easily adjustable dressings that would provide privacy and UV protection. This bedroom saw a lot of early morning sun, and in order for my client to stay snoozing, they needed something that could block out the rays, while still matching the style of the bedroom.
For color, functionality, and sun-blocking ability, my suggestion was to use Design Studio roman shades. They provide 75% protection from harmful UV rays, but they are produced in gorgeous fabrics that easily put beautiful finishing touches on any interior.
We matched the accent color shade of red my client had in mind to a decorative – but not too elaborate – textured fabric, and the result was a bold but coordinated look. Coupled with the Easy Rise continuous loop cord system and the light-blocking linings of the Design Studio shades, my client created a vibrant and versatile bedroom that perfectly matched her tastes.
